Do you want to take a stand against these injustices and learn about the various ways around Tucson to get involved and affect positive change ? Then this event is for you.
Come to be insp ired and energized! Learn about actions others are taking, make mean ingful connections with those who reflect your values, and leave with the knowledge of how to get involved and make a difference! RSVP details to come.
Our goal is to assemble, in one place, organizers and acti vists from as many organizations as we can find that share our objective o f fighting back against the harmful and inhumane policies of the Trump reg ime, and helping vulnerable populations and causes that are under increasi ng attack, and taking back our country.
From 10:00 to 1:00, attendee s will have the opportunity to learn about the missions and objectives of dozens of various movements and organizations, sign up to volunteer f or, or attend, specific actions, projects, protests or events, and/or make personal donations to causes that resonate. From 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., there will be additional social/networking time to encourage introductions, col laboration, and idea exchange. Refreshments and entertainment will b e provided.
May the Fourth Be with the People! will occur in conjunction with a staged reading of "Democracy Sucks, ” Monica Bauer's comedy about philosophy, politics, and teaching, beginnin g at 2:00 p.m. at The Scoundrel and Scamp Theatre. Pay-what-you -will admissions will be donated to the ACLU.
